During this talk, Mariam Halfhide will discuss the general theory of data strategy and its components, aiming to provide answers to the following:
- Why is data strategy important?
- What does a data strategy consist of?
- How data management and data governance come into play?
- Data strategy success factors
Data strategy in the wild:
In this talk, Kevin Duisters will discuss how Interfood strategized there journey to becoming a valuable data-driven organization, where to spot the big five pitfalls, and what to do about them.

About the speakers:
Mariam’s expertise lies in data-driven maturity and the optimal use of data as a business asset. She currently works as an AI Strategist at GoDataDriven, where she is able to translate the needs of an organization into practical solutions that add value and contribute to becoming a data-driven organization
Kevin Duisters currently serves as Global Data & Sustainability Director at Interfood Group. He was a visiting scholar at the Stanford Department of Statistics and is about to finalize his PhD in Data Science from Leiden University. Prior to joining Interfood, Kevin was a consultant with the United Nations (New York, Geneva) on Sustainable Development Finance and contributed to the new UN System data strategy.
