Lunch & Learn Edition #4: Cybersecurity for startups
Join the fourth edition of the Lunch & Learn, the lunchbreak knowledge-sharing sessions for startups and scaleups!
This month’s theme:
Cybersecurity for startups with the Cyber Resilience Center Brainport (CWB)
Does cybersecurity seem complicated? Sure, it can be. But we can no longer avoid dealing with it, especially since smaller companies are targets for cybercrime more often than large companies. 80 percent of SMEs have been targeted by cybercriminals, compared to 75 percent of big companies. Yet, while 64 percent of big companies see cybercrime as a major risk, only 24 percent of SMEs see it as a risk.
Cyber Resilience Center Brainport (CWB) tries to make entrepreneurs aware of these risks, as well as the many misconceptions about cybercrime.
For this Lunch & Learn, we will discuss:
- An intro to cybercrime and common misconceptions
- Basic measures startups can take against cybercrime
- How to design an incident response plan for the event of a cyber crisis
- Upcoming changes to European cyber law and how to make sure your company complies
- How to use services of the CWB to improve cyber resilience
About the speaker:
The Cyber Resilience Center Brainport or Cyber Weerbaarheidscentrum Brainport (CWN) is a non-profit foundation with one goal: a cyber resilient sector. To this end, the CWB provides several services and encourages participants to share knowledge and experiences with each other. That’s the way to stand strong together.
